Capsicum Culinary Studio reached another milestone when we opened our doors to its sixth branch in Port Elizabeth.

Capsicum Culinary Studio is the largest private national Chef and Hospitality Management School in South Africa.

After receiving numerous enquiries and requests for a reputable and professional Chef and Hospitality Management School in Port Elizabeth, Cheryl Nesbitt, CEO of Capsicum Culinary Studio, identified the need in the area and the decision to open the sixth branch, was made.

The education and training that you receive at Capsicum Culinary Studio, is of the highest standard, industry relevant and is locally and internationally recognised. With their International Associations with  DCT in Switzerland and Swan Tafe in Australia, and students are allowed entry into any one of their advanced programmes (both Chef and Hospitality), without any pre-qualification examination. Capsicum Culinary Studio have recently also secured a partnership with Disney World in the USA, allowing our students to be part of the Cultural Exchange Programme. Capsicum Culinary Studio is also proud to announce that well-known Executive Chef, Alfred Henry, has joined the 26 highly trained and skilled lecturing team of Capsicum. Chef Alfred, previously from Lindt, South Africa, will be imparting his knowledge and skill to both the staff and the students. Capsicum Culinary Studio boasts more local and international accreditations and associations than any other Chef and Hospitality Training School in South Africa. On the 06th May 2010, Capsicum Culinary Studio reached another milestone by being been placed ninth out of 100 companies in the AllWorld Network’s inaugural South Africa Fast Growth 100 List. AllWorld Network was established in 2007, after many years of promoting entrepreneurship in the developed and developing worlds.  Recognizing that entrepreneurship drives economic growth and innovation, AllWorld’s mission is to find and advance ALL the growth entrepreneurs of the emerging world by 2015.

With the tremendous growth in tourism to South Africa in the last few years and with top international sporting events around the corner, the hospitality industry has been one of the biggest beneficiaries stimulating an increasing demand for professional chefs. The South African Chefs’ Association states that some catering companies would need up to
1 000 chefs a day and chef schools “are likely to be emptied out”. With this in mind and the increase in demand for qualified Chefs and Hospitality Managers, Capsicum Culinary Studio is constantly keeping abreast of the changes and the demands of the industry.

If you have a passion for food, love working with people and you are creative, then this Industry is for you. It is also currently one of the fastest growing Industries in South Africa and the World.
